20th Anniversary of the Community Service Day WHAT: As Nazareth College’s Class of 2015 arrives on campus this week, students are going green as they branch out into the community Saturday afternoon to work at 21 different sites around Rochester as part of Nazareth’s 20th annual Community Service Day. The tradition is a popular event for all Nazareth freshmen and new students with nearly 500 students, faculty and staff volunteering. Community service is a very important component of life at Nazareth College with 91 percent of the school's undergraduates participating in community service while they are students.



WHEN: Saturday, August 27

2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. - New students arrive via bus to Community Service sites around Rochester

Imagine It Recycling-- 565 Blossom Road, Suite D, Rochester, NY 14610.  Students will be “going green” helping with the recycling of printer cartridges, fax machines and cell phones!  Nearly 40 Nazareth students, some members of a college course on sustainability are getting first hand experience at Imagine It Recycling. Seneca Park Zoo, 2222 St. Paul St., Rochester

Student are doing general cleanup at the zoo. On-site contact: Pam Cowan 336-7200 or

Kodak School #41, 279 Ridge Road West, Rochester, NY 14615. Nazareth students will clean-up outside school, wash windows, decorate bulletin boards and organize kindergarten orientation folders.
