Class of 2014 Continues Tradition of Community Service, Aug. 28

WHAT:    As Nazareth College’s Class of 2014 arrives on campus this week, students will branch out into the community Saturday afternoon to work at nearly 30 different sites around Rochester as part of the College’s annual Community Service Day. The tradition is a popular event for all Nazareth freshmen and new students with nearly 500 students, faculty and staff volunteering. Community service is a very important component of life at Nazareth College with 91 percent of the school's undergraduates participating in community service while they are students. **Nazareth President Daan Braveman is also joining the students at two sites, Imagine It Recycling (2-3 p.m.), and School #46 (3-4 p.m.). ** A Nazareth freshman seminar class that is focusing on “going green” and the environment will be at Imagine Recycling too—getting real life lessons!

WHEN:    Saturday, August 28
2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. - New students arrive via bus to Community Service sites around Rochester

  • Imagine It Recycling-- 565 Blossom Road, Suite D, Rochester, NY 14610.
  •  Students will be “going green” helping with the recycling of printer cartridges, fax machines and cell phones!


  • School #46, 250 New Castle Road, Rochester, NY 14610.
  • Nazareth students will clean-up outside school, wash windows, decorate bulletin boards and organize kindergarten orientation folders.
