Nazareth Becomes Venue for 360 | 365 George Eastman House Film Festival

Nazareth College is proud to be a venue for the prestigious 360 | 365 George Eastman House Film Festival, which screens on April 27-May 2, with 104 films from 21 countries. For the first time, Nazareth is a venue for three screenings at the Nazareth College Arts Center’s Callahan Theater on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30. Proceeds will be used to fund scholarships for the inaugural Summer Filmmaking Camp for Rochester Youth at Nazareth College this summer. To purchase tickets for the film festival, click here. The 360 | 365 George Eastman House Film Festival is the only contemporary film festival in the world aligned with a major motion picture archive. It is also Rochester’s largest film festival. The Nazareth Arts Center venue film Summer Pasture will be presented on Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m. Two other screenings take place at the Arts Center on Saturday, April 30: Louder Than a Bomb at 5:30 p.m. and The Robber at 8 p.m.  

Two of items of interest for the Nazareth community on Saturday, April 30:

• Media Literacy and Youth Filmmaking Panel at the George Eastman House’s Curtis Theatre at 11 a.m.

• Screening of the 2010 Rochester Teen Film Festival winners at the Little Theatre at 1 p.m.

Proceeds from the three films shown at Nazareth benefit the first-ever Summer Filmmaking Camp for Rochester Youth, a week-long camp for students ages 13-18, running July 18-22, at Nazareth College. The students are invited to stay on campus in student housing. The camp includes mini-workshops and guided participation in the art of filmmaking and the science of digital video production. Teaching will be done by experienced filmmakers from the Rochester region. Hands-on learning will help students in developing their own projects during the class.
