Keith Koster, Assistant Professor of Music Education has taught nearly all of the courses typically offered in the music education curriculum. His responsibilities here at Nazareth include undergraduate- and graduate-level courses pertaining to the teaching of music to children, working with first-year music education majors and those who are completing their student teaching experiences. He has completed certification training in both the Orff-Schulwerk and the Kodály approaches and regularly presents sessions, research findings, and performances at venues around the country. A bassoonist and woodwind specialist, he also maintains an active performance profile. A recent article pertaining to woodwind pedagogy was published in the April 2010 issue of the Music Educators Journal. He maintains memberships in the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), NYSSMA, American Dalcroze Society, Organization for American Kodály Educators, the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the Society for Research in Music Education, the Society for Research in the Psychology for Music and Music Education, and the International Double Reed Society.
