French Government English Teaching Assistantships

Nazareth College has a long tradition of winning French Government English Teaching Assistantships, which are administered by the French Ministry of Education. The awards offer an opportunity to teach for seven to nine months in French primary and secondary schools and in Instituts universitaires de formation des maitres.

French Government English Teaching Assistantship Recipients

	Tarin Baxter '09 BA, French Adolescent Inclusive Education Certification Baxter, a native of Penn Yan, N.Y., will teach in Aix-Marseille. Upon returning, she plans to pursue a full-time teaching position and a master's degree in French or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
	Chelsea Church '09 BA, French Minor: Spanish Church, a native of Bolivar, N.Y., will teach in Lyon. Upon returning, she plans to pursue a master's degree in translation.
	Vickie Ryan '09 BA, Economics Minors: French and International Studies Ryan, a native of Otego, N.Y., will teach in Lille. Upon returning, she plans to enroll in the AmeriCorps program in community development or pursue a master's degree in economics of development or urban planning.
	James Huver '08 BA, International Studies Minor: Political Science Huver, a native of Dansville, N.Y., taught in Rennes.
	Courtney Smith '08 BA, Modern Foreign Languages Smith, a native of Ogdensburg, N.Y., taught in Grenoble.
	Vittoria Souquet-Lucente '08 BA, French Minor: International Studies Souquet-Lucente, a native of Kinderhook, N.Y., taught elementary and middle school students in Lyons. back to top
	Daniel Cartwright '07 BA, French and Spanish Taught at the secondary level in Sedan. Selected as an alternate for a U.S. Student Fulbright Award.
	Suzanne DeFelice '07 BA, Political Science Minor: French Taught middle and high school in Saverne.
	Alyse Sarti '07 BA, French and Italian Taught at the secondary level in Rennes.
