It’s a pleasure to write a brief note of introduction for the inaugural Student Development Newsletter. From a report on the efforts of the divisional assessment team to an account of a transcultural teaching experience in Finland, these articles will give you a sense of the varied activities and programs taking place in student development.
In addition to reading the articles, I ask that you take just few moments to navigate the web site to familiarize (or reacquaint) yourself with the departments and functional areas in the division. We take seriously our mission to enhance student learning and personal development and believe strongly that all members of the division have a special charge to provide and promote enriching co-curricular and extra-curricular learning experiences for our students.
Collaboration is so central to much of what we do at the College. As we move towards the adoption and implementation of a new strategic plan, we in Student Development look forward to working with all members of the Nazareth community to facilitate the development of the whole person and provide the kind of environment that helps our students achieve their potential.
Feel free to get in touch with me if you have questions or would like to share comments about the newsletter.
With very best wishes,
Kevin Worthen
Vice President for Student Development
