Service-learning benefits educators by:
- Providing opportunities to teach in a real-world manner that connects required educational content with everyday life
- Creating a learning partnership among teachers, community members, and students so that each might learn from the other
- Encouraging them to creatively address and assess student learning needs in a manner that responds to multiple intelligences and multiple ways of learning
- Increasing their awareness about their biases, prejudices, and stereotypes toward others.
