Community Partners

Service-learning benefits community partners by:

  • Giving them regular technical assistance to provide a needed service to the community
  • Allowing them to feel valued and appreciated for their community-based expertise and knowledge
  • Increasing their awareness about their biases, prejudices, and stereotypes toward others
  • Creating a network with local schools, colleges, and universities to seek out additional resources and assistance
