Clock Tower Commons is an air-conditioned residence hall which opened in the fall of 2008. It is made up of four floors with approximately 148 beds in a suite-style living arrangement. Approximately half of the spaces are reserved for first-year students in the FYE Program and the other spaces are set aside for upper class students. Suites are made up of two rooms sharing a bathroom.
Upper class students have a living room in addition to the double spaces sharing a bathroom. The rooms are carpeted and the furnishings are modular with space for storage under the beds. As in most residence halls, there are blinds on all windows so it is not necessary to bring window coverings. In fact, a recently passed New York State Fire Safety Regulation prohibits window coverings that do not meet a certain flammability level. Microwaves are located in small kitchenettes on each floor.
CTC includes an elevator, spaces designed to house students with disabilities, a state of the art computer lab and an FYE smart classroom. There are lounges for studying, relaxing and gathering. A combination laundry, recycle and trash room has been incorporated on each floor and each floor lounge has a plasma television.
