Parent Handbook: The First-Year Center
The
First-Year Center serves as a support and resource for all new
students and their parents. We provide information concerning first-year
programs and services, lend an "ear" to parents and students
when needed, and answer any questions about the College. We also
work with the College community on developing new programs and services
that promote student success and retention. The Student Retention
Fund and the Student Emergency Fund are administered through this
office, as are all student withdrawal/leave of absence interviews
and paperwork.
As a parent, you play an essential role in your student's adjustment
to college life and we invite you to contact us about any concerns
that may come up during this transitional year. We also hope that
you will encourage your son or daughter to use this office as a
resource as well. We look forward to assisting you AND learning
from you!
