Standing with the Rock
Nazareth senior Andrea Rosenburg, '09, spent the summer of a lifetime in 2008 working with the Lakota Nation on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North and South Dakota. She had a service learning internship with the International Partnership for Service Learning (IPSL) working in the Tribal Historic Preservation Office at the tribal headquarters in Ft. Yates. During her last semester at Nazareth, she brought her internship supervisor, Valerian Three Irons, to the College to speak with her classmates about the unique internship experience. Another Nazareth student is now following in Andrea's footsteps this summer. After graduation, Andrea will return to the Midwest, this time to the University of South Dakota to study law with a concentration in federal Indian law.
