"Wild Again, Beguiled Again: Love Songs for Grown-ups," Oct. 7

Nazareth College Arts Center is pleased to present “Wild Again, Beguiled Again: Love Songs for Grown-ups” on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the Wilmot Recital Hall. Popular Rochester performers Alan Jones (piano, vocals) and Nazareth alumnus Cindy Miller (vocals) present some of the greatest love songs from the Great American Songbook, while narrator Michael Lasser shares anecdotes and commentary about the featured songwriters and their music.

Among the songwriters featured in “Wild Again, Beguiled Again” are Hoagy Carmichael, George and Ira Gershwin, E.Y. Harburg, Gordon Jenkins, Frank Loesser, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, Kurt Weill, and Vincent Youmans. This special concert is in honor of Michael and Elaine Lasser, in celebration of the bequest of their popular music collection to the Lorette Wilmot Library at Nazareth College. "Michael and Elaine's collection is quite impressive," says Catherine Doyle, Director of the Lorette Wilmot Library. "We appreciate the Lasser's generosity in sharing these materials with future generations of students, as well as music lovers of all ages."

Lasser, Miller, and Jones have appeared nationally at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the National Archives, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Locally, the trio has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic; at the Memorial Art Gallery, Nazareth College Arts Center, and the Jewish Community Center; and appeared on WXXI’s innovative lecture series, “WXXI Voices.”

The Lorette Wilmot Library serves Nazareth College and the surrounding community. Library services include providing books and materials, research and instruction, archives, a mobile library, and media resources. The Lorette Wilmot Library also houses the College’s Technology and Media Service Desk, providing support for faculty and staff computers, as well as all on-campus computer labs, and the Teaching and Learning Technology Team, a multipurpose facility providing faculty and staff a dedicated area for webinars, conference calls, tech training, meetings, or individual Mac and PC work stations.

Nazareth College Arts Center is the Rochester region's premiere mid-size theater and venue for world-class dance, children's theatre and international entertainment. The Arts Center brings to Rochester many of the same shows enjoyed by audiences at New York's Lincoln Center or the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. The 2010 Princeton Review names Nazareth College the 6th Best College Theater in the country (up from #9 in 2009.) The Nazareth College Arts Center is the home of Rochester Children's Theatre and the performance home of Rochester City Ballet and Garth Fagan Dance. For additional information, visit
