Veterans and Military Appreciation Hockey Night, Jan. 8

The Nazareth College Office of Veterans’ Affairs and the Athletic Department have joined together to host a Veterans and Military Appreciation Night on Tuesday, January 8th, 2013. The Nazareth Golden Flyers Men’s Ice Hockey Team is facing off against Cortland, and military and veterans (with an ID) will receive free admission to the game.  They can give an optional donation and the total proceeds from the gate will be donated to the CDS Monarch’s Warrior Salute Program. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. at the Sports Centre at MCC. The Sports Center at MCC is located at 2700 Brighton Henrietta Town Line Road, Brighton, NY 14623. Two World War II veterans will drop the puck for the opening face off (both are ninety years old), the Marine and Navy Reserve Center of Rochester will be the color guard and the Primetime Brass of Rochester will play the National Anthem.

The donations given to CDS Monarch Warrior Salute Program will help veterans and their families treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury.
