Nazareth Named A Best College by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report has again ranked Nazareth College in the top tier of colleges and universities in the category of Best Regional Universities-North in its 2012 edition of U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges. Nazareth ranked 26th in the Best Regional Universities-North (guide ranks by region) which covers 11 states and the District of Columbia.  Nazareth College also made the lists for the guide's A+ Schools for B Students, where top quality institutions look for more than just grades on applications, and Great Schools, Great Prices which looks at the school’s academic quality and the net cost of attendance for a student receiving the standard financial aid. Only schools ranked near the top half of their categories are included, because U.S. News considers the most significant values to be among colleges that are above average academically.

The 2012 edition of the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges book is available online and will be on newsstands September 20.

“The entire Nazareth College community is proud to be included on the list of best regional universities in the north region by a widely respected publication like the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges guide,” said Nazareth President Daan Braveman. ”We offer an outstanding liberal arts education that is integrated with professional programs in health and human services, management, and teacher education. And, we give each student the high quality academics at significant value, so I’m proud Nazareth is also included in the guide’s Great Schools, Great Prices list. It is important to students and parents during this tight economic time."

The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges package represents the most comprehensive look at how more than 1,400 accredited four-year schools compare on a set of 15 widely accepted indicators of excellence. Among the many factors weighed in determining the rankings, the key measures of quality are: peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and graduation rate performance (National Universities and Liberal Art Colleges).

A complete summary of the methodology used to rank each school can be found online at www.usnews.com/colleges.
