Peter Conners, School of Education alum at Nazareth College and local author, will present his lecture Growing Up Dead: Excerpts and Outtakes from an Ever-Evolving Present at Nazareth College’s Linehan Chapel on Monday, October, 3 at 5 p.m. Nazareth College is located at 4245 East Ave, Rochester, NY, 14618. A native of Rochester, N.Y., Conners will lecture on his writing experiences for the book Growing Up Dead: The Hallucinated Confessions of a Teenage Deadhead while also sharing excerpts and outtakes from several other pieces he has written. Conners will share his experiences and explain how he has evolved as both an author and publisher over the years.
Conners studied at Nazareth College in the School of Education. Remaining in the Rochester area, he has written several books including Growing up Dead: The Hallucinated Confessions of a Teenage Deadhead, White Hand Society: The Psychedelic Partnership of Timothy Leary & Allen Ginsberg, and the novella Emily Ate the Wind. In addition to the above pieces, Conners has authored several pieces of poetry, including the prose collection Of Whiskey and Winter as well as The Crows Were Laughing in their Trees, which was published in the spring of 2011. Conners works as Publisher of the not-for-profit literary press BOA Editions in Rochester.
