The event was created as part of a service-learning project for a college nutrition class. Nazareth College is located at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618. For more information please contact Marie Watkins, director of Nazareth's Center for Service-Learning, at 585-389-2748 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students will work with city school children in grades third through sixth, teaching them the importance of proper nutrition. The event makes the learning process fun and interactive for the children as they make their way through 15 various stations set up market style--each containing a unique activity that helps them develop a better understanding of healthy eating, healthy exercise and healthy lifestyles.
Children will also be sent home with information focusing on nutrition activities that their families or teachers can work on with them after the event. It is the goal of the students to bring children of all different backgrounds together and educate them while also having fun.
