Nazareth College’s Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue is pleased to announce two upcoming programs titled Train the Trainers 2013 and 7th Generation 2013 Youth Interfaith Encounter. These two courses will be offered the week of Monday August 12-Friday, August 16, 2013. Train the Trainers 2013 will be held from 1:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in room 236 of the Nazareth College Golisano Academic Center. 7th Generation 2013 Youth Interfaith Encounter will be held from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in room 237 of the Nazareth College Golisano Academic Center. Train the Trainers 2013 is a week long non-credit certificate course with a spiritual journey to places of worship. The course is designed to Train the Trainers; professionals, business people, religious leaders, teachers, social workers and all those who are engaged in dealing with the other. The course will be presented by experts in world religions who will teach about the faith and practices of a variety of major world religions, provide the necessary tools for respectful communication, and show you how to be aware of the religious needs of the other. The course also includes visits to local places of worship to understand these faiths as they are lived. 7th Generation 2013 Youth Interfaith Encounter invites high school students to a week-long immersion and workshop event to explore world religions and interfaith dialogue. Youth from diverse religions will take part in this experience and will engage in learning and interfaith dialogue as they go through the program together. This program includes a variety of events, such as seminars, interactive workshop sessions, group discussions, site visits to local places of worship and a community service element.
