November 6, 2009

Nazareth College’s Community Service Floor is serving up another year of talent at their second annual Joining Hearts and Hands Talent Show on Saturday, November 7 in the Shults Center Forum on the Nazareth College campus from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Nazareth College is located at 4245 East Ave., Rochester, N.Y. 14618. The talent show is open to all members of the Nazareth and Rochester community and tickets cost $3 at the door. All proceeds benefit Joining Hearts and Hands to help send a young Kenyan student to school. For more information contact Julie Lloyd at (585) 389-2304.

Joining Hearts and Hands, Ltd. was established by William Cala and his wife Joanne to help fight AIDS and poverty in Kenya. They are currently rebuilding schools and providing scholarships for secondary school students in villages in the Lake Victoria area of Kisumu, Kenya. Last year’s talent show raised enough money to send Lillian, a Kenyan student, to a secondary school for three years. This year’s goal is to raise enough money so that Lillian can finish her final year of high school and move on to realize her dream of becoming a doctor.
