October 26, 2009
Nazareth College is proud to announce that Keri Cameron, an undergraduate business administration major from Newark, N.Y., is the recipient of the 2009 William G. McGowan Scholarship.
The McGowan Scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a degree in business and who displays excellence in both academics and involvement with academic, campus and community groups. The scholarship provides one student a full-time academic scholarship – approximately $18,000. To qualify for this award, students must meet certain requirements including a GPA of 3.0 or better, faculty recommendations, involvement within the academic, campus and community groups as well as a written essay on the accomplishments of William G. McGowan to business.
This scholarship is made possible through the McGowan Charitable Funds organization. The award is named for Mr. William G. McGowan, former chairman on MCI Communications Corporation, who was able to finish his MBA studies with the help of a similar program.
