Nazareth College and 360 | 365 George Eastman House Film Festival will be partnering this summer to bring the youth of Rochester a one-week intensive film camp from July 18-22. The Film Camp will include mini-workshops and guided participation in the art of filmmaking and the science of digital video production. Students will learn hands-on from experienced filmmakers from the Rochester region as well as guest filmmakers and Nazareth College faculty and staff.
The Film Camp is not the first initiative Nazareth College and 360 | 365 have joined forces on. The two are also hosting the annual Rochester Teen Film Festival, showcasing the film talent of Rochester area students and this year Nazareth College was added as a venue for three screenings at the Nazareth College Arts Center’s Callahan Theater at the festival.

Film is such an integral part of the Rochester community and the lives of young people. It’s great to work with 360 | 365 in order to provide our youth with more opportunities to tell their stories through the moving image.”
The one-week camp will include the following topics:
• Story boarding
• Fundamental filming techniques including lighting, sound, and camera operation
• Using the camera to tell a story
• Shot composition
• Directing actors
• Use of props
• Post-production editing
• Finishing and distributing the film
The Teen Film Camp will be located at Nazareth College from July 18- 22. Students will be invited to stay on campus in student housing for the entire week and attend workshops Monday through Friday. Equipment will be provided, although students are allowed to bring their own. Youth interested in the program can register at http://film360365.com/main/. The camp will be limited to 28 students and there is a $500 tuition fee. Scholarships are available for students who qualify for free and reduced lunches at school.
