Thinking BEYOND SELF.
Service. Intrinsic to our nation’s values—and to the Nazareth College experience. At Nazareth, we honor veteran-students like Phil Rouin by making their challenging transitions from military to academic life a little easier. We connect our veterans with scholarships, counseling, and administrative support. The result? Every day, veterans are working at and serving with Nazareth to move Rochester forward.
Marching to the BEAT of our own DRUMMER.
Nazareth is striking the right note in our community. You'll find our alums cultivating a love of music as teachers in regional schools. Our students are also investigating innovative music-therapy approaches in our Rehabilitation and Wellness Clinics - including drum circles designed to relieve anxiety and stress for at-risk veterans. We're bringing new kinds of creativity to teaching and healing our community. We're moving Rochester forward.

EXPANDING options for CARE in Rochester.
Is more better? When it comes to health care choices, we think so. Nazareth College continues to increase the quantity and quality of health care training options for our region. Our new occupational therapy program completes a full suite of traditional allied health and creative arts therapy programs. Rochester residents will see (and feel) the benefits at our Rehabilitation and Wellness Clinics. Nazareth is preparing the caring clinicians who will stay in - and heal - our community for generations to come. We're moving Rochester forward.

Caring about CULTURE. Caring about RESULTS.
Como se dice, "Where does it hurt?" Nazareth College nursing students frequently volunteer at Rochester's Centro De Oro, an Hispanic senior center, providing health and wellness care to participants. To prepare our students for these diverse practice experiences, Nazareth's nursing curriculum examines how cultural assumptions can impact - and impede - patient care. Nazareth's transcultural nursing practice transforms patient outcomes. We're moving Rochester forward.
In CONCERT with ROCHESTER.
Bebop. Bach. Bossa nova. Bassoon. Each year, Nazareth presents more than 100 free recitals and concerts covering diverse and innovative music styles. In addition, our Community Music Program connects students from 8 to 80 with the opportunity to study with Nazareth faculty. You'll find those same faculty members energizing music venues across the region with their performances. We're nurturing music in our community - now and for the future. We're moving Rochester forward.
Planting the seeds of RECOVERY.
Ever been truly speechless? Every 21 seconds, traumatic brain injury strikes—often leaving victims unable to think clearly or communicate. And it's now the most common war injury for our returning troops. By combining health therapies, social work, and community services, Nazareth's Rehabilitation and Wellness Clinics help patients recover. Now we're considering ways to incorporate innovative horticulture approaches to help them thrive. Nazareth is preparing the caring clinicians who will stay in—and heal—our community for generations to come. We're moving Rochester forward.
INSPIRING change can't happen on SPARE change.
David Giacherio '10G came to Nazareth ready to make the leap from 25 years as an Eastman Kodak scientist to teaching students in high-need school districts. To attract more career-changing (and world-changing) students like David, Nazareth applied for and received $750,000 in National Science Foundation grants to fund scholarships for aspiring teachers. Nazareth is preparing the students who will teach—and reach—young people in our community for generations to come. We're moving Rochester forward.
3,700 patients. INFINITE impact.
Last year, more than 500 uninsured or underinsured patients visited Nazareth's Rehabilitation and Wellness Clinics, including our music therapy clinic. Our innovative partnerships with Rochester agencies affected nearly 3,200 residents. As the only school in upstate New York to offer both traditional allied health and creative arts therapy, we're preparing students who will stay in—and heal—our community for generations to come. We're moving Rochester forward.
1 teacher. 1,000 lives.
Do the math. Every teacher can touch more than 1,000 lives throughout a career. For more than 80 years, Nazareth has educated thousands of teachers, pioneering ways for them to be prepared for every classroom challenge. From inclusive education to connecting technology with student learning, we continue to work on innovative solutions for education problems. We're attracting new teachers for our community, who will shape the future of our region one child at a time. We're moving Rochester forward.
INSPIRING change can't happen on SPARE change.
To attract more career-changing (and world-changing) students, Nazareth applied for and received $750,000 in National Science Foundation grants to fund scholarships for aspiring teachers committed to serving high-need districts. These teachers are ready to connect their professional math and science experience to area classrooms. Nazareth is preparing the students who will teach—and reach—children in our community for generations to come. We're moving Rochester forward.
