Biography:
Pianist and educator Josh Massicot has made important contributions to advancing the understanding of developing musicianship at all levels of instrumental instruction. His research has helped shape standards at universities and community music schools across the country.
As a versatile performer, Mr. Massicot has concertized throughout the country as a soloist, chamber musician, and lecturer. He has been a three-time featured soloist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and is a laureate of numerous international festivals and competitions. He performs regularly and helps organize concert series and events in the Rochester area.
As a teacher, he is active in the Western New York area as a presenter and adjudicator. His students have won numerous awards and recognitions at both the pre-collegiate and collegiate levels.
Mr. Massicot has received both the Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance and the Masters of Music Degree in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. He holds Orff-Schulwerk Certification and has received Dalcroze training at Eastman and in New York City.
