In addition to her work as an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Supervisor in the Creative Arts Therapy Department at Nazareth College, Jennifer Ryckaert serves as the music therapist for the Brockport Central School District. Of particular interest to her, both in her work at Nazareth College and in the Brockport Schools, is the use of music therapy in interdisciplinary settings.
While working as a music therapist, Ms. Ryckaert has also maintained a private piano studio for the past 15 years and specializes in piano instruction for individuals with special needs, including those who require Braille music instruction. She is also certified in the Orff-Schulwerk methodology and formerly served on the Orff faculty at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance where she developed an Orff class for children with visual impairments as part of a partnership with ABVI.
Ms. Ryckaert obtained her Bachelor of Arts in piano performance from the University of New Hampshire and her Master of Music Therapy from Georgia College and State University and has also completed studies in music therapy at Nazareth College.
