An internship is a great way to gain practical experience and make future career connections. Many Nazareth students complete internships locally, regionally, and even internationally.
Internships at Nazareth College are academic courses consisting of pre-professional work experience in the students' career field coupled with targeted reflective and analytical assignments designed to help students become more mature career decision makers. The Internship Office develops opportunities locally and beyond with the collaboration of academic departments. Internships are available through partnerships with organizations in all sectors of the community: major corporations, small businesses, arts and educational organizations, public and government agencies. Students may also develop their own internships with approval from the Internship Office and the student's departmental advisor.
Mathematics students are encouraged to complete an internship as part of their academic program. Taking advantage of the opportunity to apply mathematical thinking, model and solve problems in a business or industry setting and learn to network adds a valuable dimension to the college experience. Internships can be arranged for academic credit as a mathematics elective course, MTH 483 Mathematics Internship. Some internships are paid positions.
