Kelli Loucks, an English and drama teacher at Pittsford Sutherland High School, researched and wrote her LST 600 capstone thesis/project during Summer 2013. Her thesis, “Theatre Performance Training for Secondary Educators: A Proposal,” is an overview of the specifics of various New York State education programs to ascertain the availability of theatre courses for prospective teachers. Once she discovered what was available, Kelli created a proposal for two feasible models of undergraduate study that could integrate critical theatre courses with secondary teacher training. In addition to her practical research project that highlights the importance of INTEGRATION, Kelli achieved a 4.0 GPA during her MALS studies and was presented with the “Award for Excellence in Liberal Studies” for 2013. Pictured here are Kelli and Program Director Dr. Monica Weis SSJ celebrating the moment.
