Olga, Mary Anne and Margaret enjoy the refreshments

Last year two MALS graduates, Olga Lapczak and Mary Anne Lovelock, initiated an informal book discussion—later dubbed “The Inklings” after the famous Tolkein gathering in an Oxford Pub  known as “The Eagle and the Child.”  Now in their second year, the group, to which any and all are invited, have enjoyed evenings of sociability discussing Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver, and The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.  Next on their list is:

  • Thurs Jan 23 - And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini
  • Thurs Feb 27 - I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai
  • Thurs Mar 27 -  (more details to come)

The group meets in GAC 453 (History dept resource room), munchies at 6:30, conversation from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
