In September, a group of MALS graduates, students, friends, and faculty—motivated by a desire to have a good discussion and to share ideas and impressions—gathered for the first meeting of the MALS Book Club. "A Visit from the Goon Squad," by Jennifer Egan, with its themes of time, fate, and loss, inspired a lively and thought-provoking evening. The club plans to meet monthly throughout the year. October's book was "The Book Thief," by Markus Zusak.
November’s gathering will be on Thursday, Nov 29 in GAC 151. Munchies at 6:30; discussion from 7–8 p.m. November’s book: “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” by Junot Diaz.
Due to popular demand the MALS book club is open to undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and friends—please join us, and invite your friends!
