Semmelweis University Faculty of Health Sciences

Semmelweis University has a 240-year old tradition of academic excellence and commitment to the education of health sciences professionals. More than ten percent of health care students are foreign citizens studying at Semmelweis University, which provides an excellent experiential base for the education of health care providers. Semmelweis University is the largest university for the education of physicians, nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, and health care professionals in Hungary. The Faculty of Health Sciences currently has approximately 4,000 students. 

The University has produced world-renowned scientists and has hosted several prestigious research conferences over the past several years.  Semmelweis University is located in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The city is considered one of the liveliest and most beautiful cities in all of Europe. The Danube river flows through the heart of the city and is crossed by seven impressive bridges. 

The city hosts centuries-old traditions almost every night including instrumental or symphony concerts, ballet performances, classic opera, folk dancing, and so much more.  Known for its excellence in arts Budapest also offers numerous museums to visitors from around the world. Whether exploring the culture or entertainment, food or art. Short trips to surrounding cities like Vienna and Prague are just around the corner.

Application Deadlines

Fall (September-February): May 15th

Spring (February-June): November 15th

Costs and Financial Aid

Students pay Nazareth College tuition and retain their full Nazareth financial aid packages (excluding work study).

Living Accommodations

Students are responsible for arranging and paying for room and board. They may choose to live in private rental accommodations near their campus; utilities and food are not included.

Once you have been accepted to the program, Semmelweis University will contact you with visa application procedures.
