Center for International Education
The Center for International Education places a strong emphasis on sponsored activities, and undertakes extensive grant writing for projects to benefit our community and our world, including fundraising, study tours that promote edu-tourism, and other fee-for-service endeavors that are integral to the Center's mission and function.
Government Sponsored Programs
The CIE partners with international NGO’s and directly with the U.S. Department of State to provide education to international students from around the world. Innovative programs range from short-term, month long, to a full degree program. Students from countries such as Afghanistan, Turkey, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia, Indonesia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, among others, spend valuable time at Nazareth College in acquiring a first rate education, and in turn, sharing their culture with our students.
U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders
Nazareth College is one of seven U.S universities that hosts undergraduate student leader institutes in conjunction with the Academy for Education Development (AED) in Washington, D.C. The program is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. Learn more.
Grants and Linkages
In furthering the mission of Nazareth College for connecting the college to the world and the world to Nazareth, the CIE maintains and continually expands a network of partner institutions around the world. To support these connections, the CIE engages in extensive grant writing and fundraising from governmental and private sources. Among the recent programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education is the Atlantis program which connects Nazareth College, Laurea University (Finland), and Semmelweis University (Hungary) in order to award a dual-degree in nursing. Other grants, funded by the U.S. Department of State, provide funds for institutes educating students in short-programs about American society and culture. Programs for establishing linkages with Iraqi and Algerian Universities are also secured from governmental resources.
Partnering with the top business and professional communities of Rochester, the Center for International Education delivers educational and training programs for students and professionals from around the world.
