State-of-the-Art LabsIn a 1940s building, existing science lab space is cramped, sinks often overflow (some lab teachers keep a dishpan handy for bailing) and infrastructure systems are overloaded. The current facility is safe, but far from state-of-the-art. New labs will make teaching and learning more effective. |
Teaching ScienceExcellent laboratories are essential for students who want to become science teachers. They must be exposed to something approximately state of the art in the world today, to the facilitates that are routine in grad school—even in some high schools in the Rochester area. |
Anatomy & Physiology LabAt 1,200 square feet, the anatomy and physiology lab is the largest in the center and will allow students to explore on campus what they once had to travel to other area colleges to experience. The anatomy and physiology lab offers the hands-on experience necessary for preparing tomorrow’s teachers and health care professionals. Biology, nursing, and physical therapy students will all use the lab to complete requirements. |
General Chemistry LabAll biology, chemistry, math and physical therapy students are required to take chemistry. This laboratory will serve them and help to prepare them for their careers in health and human services, education, or industry. The general chemistry laboratory will also be a site for interdisciplinary studies such as “Chemistry and Art.” |
Math Research LabThe research labs planned for the Integrated Center for Math and Science will fill a void for Nazareth and advance the College academically. The math research lab features high-speed computing and provides a space for dedicated research. |
General Biology LabA 900-square-foot laboratory utilized by students pursuing careers in the life sciences or health care (including medicine, physical therapy and nursing). The general biology lab is where Nazareth students will first study life’s diversity among microbes, plants, and animals. |
