Speech and Language Clinic

Speech and Language Clinic

This clinic addresses the communication needs of children and adults with speech and language delays and disorders.

Potential Clients

The clinic provides diagnostic assessment and treatment services for children and adults throughout the Rochester community who have a wide range of speech and language disorders, including articulation, voice, and fluency. Student clinicians also provide supervised outreach services to preschools and schools in the area.

Session Schedule

The clinic offers 45-minute weekly sessions. Sessions follow the Nazareth College semester schedule and may occur in an individual or a small group format, depending upon client needs and clinic scheduling factors. Schedules for therapy are completed prior to the start of each semester. Evaluations are scheduled throughout the semester. A summer program is also available.

Student Clinicians

Therapy services are provided by students in the communication sciences and disorders and graduate speech-language pathology programs. All therapy is supervised by faculty certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the New York State Office of the Professions.

Clients are referred to the clinic from any number of sources, including current clinic families, other clinics and clients, case managers, physicians, social workers, teachers, and community speech-language therapists. A speech-language evaluation and/or progress report must be made available to the clinic if the client has recently attended therapy elsewhere. Arrangements for evaluation can be made through the clinic if needed.

Eligibility and Fees

The clinic offers affordable services to families. Please contact the clinic for the current cost of service. A sliding fee scale is available.

The speech and language clinic is found on the Nazareth campus in Carroll Hall. The clinic space is handicap accessible.
