Physical therapy is a health care profession dedicated to the promotion of optimal physical function and movement. Physical therapists evaluate, treat, and educate their clients to improve or restore movement and function.
Potential Clients
The clinic serves clients of all ages with a variety of neuromuscular impairments and needs. Clinicians provide evaluation and treatment for many conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, amputation, traumatic brain injury, and Parkinson’s disease. Interventions include individually designed programs to promote maximum function.
Session Schedule
The clinic offers individual and group therapy sessions once per week. Sessions follow the Nazareth College semester schedule. Student clinicians also provide clients with home exercise plans to further physical improvement while not in therapy.
Student Clinicians
Therapy services are provided by students in the doctor of physical therapy professional program under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapist faculty, according to the standards of the New York State Office of the Professions.
Referrals
Clients are referred to the clinic from any number of sources, including other clinicians and clients, case managers, physicians, and social workers. Please check with the physical therapy clinic office regarding the need for physician referral.
Eligibility and Fees
The clinic offers services to individuals who have exhausted their health benefits or who do not have health insurance. A voluntary donation of $60 per semester is appreciated.
Location
The neuromuscular physical therapy clinic is on the Nazareth campus in Carroll Hall. Parking is conveniently located and fully accessible.
