The Nazareth College chapter of Colleges Against Cancer is organizing a Marrow Donor Drive on Thursday, October 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Shults Center Forum.
To join the registry for free, stop by the Forum to fill out paperwork and have a cotton swab rubbed on the inside of your cheek. Tissue type is inherited and matches are more likely to be successful if the patient and the donor are of the same race and ethnicity. We are looking for diversity among donors so that more patients receive the help that they need. Requirements for donors are as follows: must be in general good health, be between the ages of 18 and 44, and be willing to donate to any patient in need.
There are many misconceptions in regard to marrow donation, please take the time to learn more about the donations by visiting www.BeTheMatch.org.
This event is free and open to the public.
