This fourth concert in the series features string, piano and the vocal music of Schumann, including the enchanting song cycle, Leiderkreis, Op. 39. Also featured will be Schumann's only two-piano work, the Andante and Variations, selections from the song cycle, Myrthen, which was his wedding gift to Clara, and the first of his three violin sonatas.

The enduring mystery of Schumann's hand injury will be addressed in a short talk, coupled with an opportunity for audience members to see a variety of excerpts of Schumann's prolific work as a journalist and writer.
