On Thursday, November 1st at 7:00p.m. Engineers Without Borders and Amnesty International are bringing Carl Wilkens to the University of Rochester campus to speak about his experiences in Rwanda. Carl Wilkens is the former head of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency International in Rwanda. In 1994, he was the only American who chose to remain in the country after the genocide began. His choice to stay and try to help resulted in preventing the massacre of hundreds people over the course of the genocide.

Wilkens now travels the world telling his story with the goal of inspiring and equipping people to stand up to genocide, racism, and intolerance. If you would like to learn more about Wilkens visit his website: http://worldoutsidemyshoes.org/. Now featuring a special acapella performance by the University of Rochester Yellowjackets!!! Tickets cost $7 for students, $10 for faculty, and $13 for the Rochester community, and will be on sale URochestertickets.com or at the Common Market on campus. Cosponsored by: Sigma Chi, Chi Omega, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, Delta Upsilon, DKE, MLC Undergraduate Society, Sigma Nu, and UR Rotaract
