A trained horticulture therapist works with plants to help clients/patients meet their therapy goals. Horticulture therapy is helpful in achieving many kinds of goals including improved mood, general wellness, stroke recovery, physical rehabilitation and job training. Horticulture therapy is used with people of all ages and abilities. Settings where horticulture therapy can be used are equally wide ranging and include nursing homes, hospice, prisons, dementia units, schools, sheltered workshops and clinics.
