The Foreign Languages and Literatures Department of Nazareth College is proud to present Casablanca, a play in English, French, Spanish, and Italian by Candide Carrasco.

Casablanca: the 23 of December 1953.
Pedrito, a 7-year-old boy, and Linette, his best friend, live in the poor section of town. Their parents are Spanish immigrants that have fled from Spain after Franco’s victory. Together, the children try to forget the ugliness of the real world by constructing a fabulous beautiful realm, with magical stories and their little puppet theater. But, reality hits them. Pedrito who is constantly bullied at school has to triumph over the bad boys with the help of his little friend, and some imaginary ones too. They will end up on a beach on the Atlantic coast where the future will be announced. Great destinies wait for them; one boy will become a successful businessman, the second a prestigious guitar player, the third an accomplished professor of French in upstate New York, and the last will triumph in Paris and Hollywood as an international movie star.

Casablanca is a story of the pain growing up in a world at the border of extinction, and of hope as the children dream of a harmonious country where people are valued, respected, and loved no matter what culture and background they are from. America is what they dream of, and one day they will reach it...

The performances will be on: March 1 at 10:00 A.M. for schools, March 2 and 3 at 8:00 P.M. for the public Performances will run approximately 120 minutes with an intermission of 10 minutes.
