The Nazareth College School of Education, in partnership with the Coalition for Justice in Education, is hosting the  the Western New York premiere screening of "August to June" on Tuesday, April 10, at 5:00 p.m. in Arts Center A-14.

The film follows a master teacher and her students through one academic year at a progressive public school in California.  The film highlights educational and social values largely dormant in today's dominant forms of schooling and, as such, models an important alternative for our community.  This is really a beautiful and well crafted film.  Here's a link to the trailer:  http://augusttojune.com/

Co-Producer and Co-Director (and featured teacher), Amy Valens, will be on hand to introduce the film and lead a discussion after the film.  The screening will take place at 5 p.m. in the Arts Center A-14.
