Students enrolled in teacher education programs at Nazareth College have multiple opportunities for fieldwork in a range of settings, working with a variety of learners. Field Placement Services staff coordinate the placements for fieldwork, practica, and student teaching.
Field Placements
Field Placement Services is responsible for securing placements for 1,000 students each semester. The primary purpose of fieldwork is to connect the theory and strategies learned in the Nazareth classrooms to real world applications in public schools.

Student Teaching/Practicum

practicum is designed to provide and document your experience working
with students with disabilities at a developmental level and/or
certification area different than your initial certification. It thus
provides a focused opportunity for using a different “lens,” a way to
experience the multiple facets of being an inclusive educator.
Graduate TESOL

with ELL students. It thus provides a focused opportunity for using a
different “lens,” a way to experience the multiple facets of being an
ESOL educator.
