Are You Mentor Material?

Positive mentoring relationships are the cornerstone of the Teacher Opportunity Corps Program. The guidance, support and advice given by veteran teachers is a major reason over 98 percent of TOC graduates remain teaching in urban schools for more than five years.

Mentors must:

  • Be Rochester City School District Teachers
  • Demonstrate exemplary teaching ability
  • Hold very high expectations for students
  • Convey enthusiasm for learning

Benefits to TOC mentors include eligibility for grants, classroom resources, professional development and education.
