Writing Center Hours — Fall 2008

The following limitations for using the writing center exist so the center can operate within its well defined philosophy of helping writers develop the myriad skills to slowly improve writing ability over time.* All appointments are for thirty minutes only. Back to back appointments for the same paper are not allowed and, only one appointment is permitted per draft. _____________ * The opposite of our approach would be a writing center that does the very work for the students that would help them improve as writers (i.e., copyediting or proofreading a paper).

Appointments
You can always drop by the Center see if the tutor is free. The Center is usually quite busy, so it is advisable to schedule an appointment. To do so, check our hours above and then leave your appointment request on the WC's voice mail @ 389-2636. Tutors will return your call to either confirm or notify you of conflicts with your appointment time.

The Writing Center is not open during official school holidays or when the weather forces school closure.

Coming to the Writing Center does not guarantee that someone will be able to see you immediately. Walk-ins are welcome at the Writing Center; however, if the tutor is busy when you arrive you may need to wait or even come back at a different time.
