The ability to communicate complex and abstract concepts through the use of language is a uniquely human ability. Speech, language, and hearing problems significantly affect the quality of life of millions of people, both young and old, throughout the world. Speech-language pathologists and audiologists help people develop, improve, or regain their ability to communicate.
