Speech & Hearing Clinics

50 years of quality speech and hearing services!

The Nazareth College Speech and Hearing Clinic was established in 1957 as an integral component of undergraduate and graduate clinical education in Communication Sciences & Disorders. Its mission is to develop students' clinical skills while delivering services to underserved children and adults in the Rochester Community. Diagnostic and therapy services are currently available for a wide range of communication disorders across the lifespan, including problems of articulation, voice, fluency, language, hearing and auditory processing, and for individuals who are deaf, including those who use Cued Speech and those who use cochlear implants. A specialized clinic has been established for individuals who have aphasia. In addition to the on-campus clinics, student clinicians and faculty provide reach-out services to preschools, schools, and adult day programs.

These clinics offer an opportunity for our students to apply their theoretical education under the direct supervision of NYS licensed and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certified supervisors. Linked to the academic calendar they are generally in session from mid-September until early December, February through April, and (depending on the clinic program) mid-may through June or July through early August. The clinics operate on a fee-for service basis (see: Current Fee Schedule).
