Picture of Smyth Hall FrontFounded in 1924, Nazareth College is an independent, co-educational institution with a liberal arts and sciences core. For more than 80 years the College has been preparing students to become successful, ethical professionals who are involved in their communities.

The 148-acre campus is located near the village of Pittsford, just south of the city of Rochester, New York. Twenty-three campus buildings include a newly renovated high-tech library, an Arts Center, three foreign language houses, and the Otto A. Shults Community Center which includes a pool, oversized gymnasium, racquetball courts, and a sauna.

As part of a larger community, Nazareth College shares many of the concerns of our neighbors, including concern about the prevention of crime. The Department of Campus Safety, Residential Life staff, and students themselves have initiated a variety of individual and joint efforts to ensure that persons and property at Nazareth College are as safe and secure as possible.

Statement on Diversity and Respect

"We, the Nazareth community, embrace both respect for the person and freedom of speech. The college promotes civility and denounces acts of hatred or intolerance. The free exchange of ideas is possible only when concepts, values, and viewpoints can be expressed and challenged in a manner that is neither threatening or demeaning. It is the policy of Nazareth College, in keeping with its efforts to foster a community in which the diversity of all members is respected, not to discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, marital or veteran status, disability, carrier status, genetic predisposition or other protected status. Respect for the dignity of all peoples is an essential part of the college's tradition and mission, and its vision of the future."
