Residence Hall Opening & Closing Dates for 2008-2009

  • August 21 at 8:30 a.m.Students having picnic outside residence halls
    Residence Halls open for new students

  • August 23 at 9:00 a.m..

  • November 21 at 6 p.m.
    Residence Halls close for Thanksgiving Break

  • November 30 at noon

  • March 13 at 6 p.m.

* Please plan on leaving campus within 24 hours of your last exam.

Before you leave campus for a long break, please be sure to:

  • Defrost and unplug your refrigerator. Leave the door open to avoid a foul odor when you return.

  • Turn off and unplug your computer, printer, and monitor.

  • Clean your room; it is always nice to return to a neat and tidy home.

  • Pack everything you need for your break (including medications, checkbooks, clothes...), as you will not be allowed back into the Residence Halls until the date specified.

  • LOCK YOUR DOORS!

 

Check In/Check Out Procedures

  • When you arrive on campus, please check in at the desk for your building/area to receive your room key, room condition form, Student Handbook, and Guidelines for Residential Living.

     

  • Please DO NOT place boxes or other trash in the hallways. Use the trash/recycling rooms located on each floor.

     

  • DO NOT remove any furniture or items that may not belong to you from your room,

     

  • Don't forget to attend your first floor meeting to meet your new neighbors and review hall policies!

     

Check Out

  • Within 24 hours of your last exam during the Spring Semester (or if you are moving out in December), you must schedule a time with your RA to complete a room inspection and to return your key before you leave. Express check-out forms are alsStudents singing in Colies Cafeo available.

     

  • Be sure to leave your room exactly as it was when you moved in. This means you must sweep, vacuum, dust, and remove ALL of your belongings. Don't forget to check all of the drawers, closets, and other nooks and crannies throughout your room.

     

  • Please note that you will be charged for any damages in your room that may have occurred throughout the year, as well as for excessive trash and uncleanliness.
