Institutional Research and Assessment

Welcome to the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment Home Page

The mission of Nazareth College is to provide a learning community that educates students in the liberal arts, sciences, visual and performing arts, and professional fields.  To assist in the development of an effective learning environment, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment provides support, and clean, accurate and timely information to academic departments so they can accurately assess student learning outcomes; and to administrative departments to support their efforts to enhance the learning environment through the effective and efficient provision of services and activities to faculty, students, staff, and alumni.

To this end, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment shall

  • Develop, maintain and audit an analytical database to support information requirements for both academic and administrative uses, integrating data from multiple internal and external sources. Become a resource for locating institutionally useful information from the analytical database, institutional reports, surveys, and projects supported by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, web sites and other available information sources.
  • Build a versatile and secure electronic reporting strategy to providing units with information required for internal activities, i.e., assessment, strategic planning, and decision support. Oversee institutional reporting in response to state, federal, accreditation and other external information requests
  • Provide staff support for the assessment infrastructure for Nazareth College by coordinating the activities of the Nazareth College Assessment Steering Committee, the Academic Assessment Steering Committee, the Administrative Assessment Steering Committee, and any other administrative or faculty committee that addresses assessment or accreditation issues. Support assessment projects with demonstrated linkages to institutional priorities, strategic planning and/or accreditation standards.
