The Nazareth LPN to BS Program is for:
- LPNs who wish to become a baccalaureate prepared Registered Nurse.
Why a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing?
According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, rapidly expanding clinical knowledge and mounting complexities in health care mandate that professional nurses have baccalaureate degrees in nursing.
Health care today requires RN's who can:
- Practice across multiple, less structured environments
- Function with more independence in clinical decision making and case management
- Supervise unlicensed aides and other support staff
- Design and manage a comprehensive plan of nursing care
- Master advancing technology
A BS prepares RNs for advanced studies in areas of:
- Nurse Anesthesia
- Nurse Midwifery
- Nurse Practitioner
- Clinical Specialization
- Masters- and Doctorate-level Graduate Study
Through unique partnerships, Nazareth College offers specialized programs for graduates of the Isabella Graham Hart and the Marion S. Whalen Schools of Practical Nursing. Graduates of these two programs who have a GPA of 2.3 on a scale of 4.0 and who either hold a license and current registration to practice or who are awaiting NCLEX-PN test results within the next six months are welcome to apply. Graduates of other LPN programs will receive an individualized evaluation of transfer credits and admission requirements.
