Master of Science GNP: Program Requirements
The Advanced Certificate Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Program is for those who have earned a master's degree in nursing and would like to specialize to become a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner.
Nurses already possessing an M.S. earn an Advanced Certificate by completing this 33 credit hour program that consists of clinical specialization and practice core courses. Other courses may be required as applicable to individual needs and interests. You may enroll either full- or part-time.
The GNP program at Nazareth College is registered by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
GNP Advanced Certificate Admission Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Current professional nursing licensure and registration.
- Completed application to the GNP program.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Interview with the Director of the GNP program.
Your application will be considered after you submit the following materials:
- The application form and required application fee.
- An autobiographical statement including your reasons for undertaking graduate study.
- A copy of current professional nursing license and registration in New York State or other jurisdiction.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Official transcripts from all post secondary institutions attended.
After the college has received all of your application materials, you will be called for an appointment with the Director of the GNP program, Linda Janelli, Ed.D., RNC.
