The Nazareth Summer Piano Camp is designed for students who enjoy playing the piano and sharing common interests with their peers. From the curious keyboard musician who has been taking weekly lessons to the more advanced player seriously considering a career in music, our students will tap into their own curiosity and creativity as they seek to expand versatility at the instrument. Our goal is to offer the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience in the language of music and the tools of music-making.

Children Making Music
will be offering two musical experiences this summer, each of one week duration. They are designed to provide opportunities for children to sing, play classroom instruments, actively listen and move to music, and compose and improvise their own pieces, all in a welcoming yet structured group environment. The camp will incorporate a variety of highly regarded pedagogical approaches, including Orff, Kodály and Dalcroze, among others. Developmentally appropriate musical experiences during childhood, such as those presented in this camp, provide children with a foundation for lifelong musical participation.
The Sounds of Nature will be offered for 6-8 year olds. Children will discover the music of animals, plants and changes in weather through songs, chants, movement activities and creative endeavors.
Music Around the World will be offered for 9-11 year olds. Children will take a journey to far-away lands to become familiar with the musical traditions of other cultures through folk music, dance and instrumental activities.
Fee:$200 (payment by July 1 for The Sounds of Nature Class and July 8 for Music Around the World)
