Biography:
Originally from Korea, Jung Choi has received her Bachelor degree in Music Performance from Seoul National University, and is currently working on her Master degree at the Eastman School of Music. In 1997, she has made her solo debut in Seoul, performing the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the Seoul Chamber Orchestra, and in the fall of 2006, made her debut performing the Strauss Oboe Concerto with the Eastman Philharmonic.

She has been awarded with many prizes in different competitions in Korea such as Busan Music Competition, Seoul National University Woodwind Competition, and etc. She has served as the Principle oboist in the Seoul Civic Orchestra and substituted in most major orchestras in Seoul including Seoul Philharmonic. She is currently substituting in orchestras around the Rochester region.

She also has attended Sarasota Music Festival, Le Domaine Forget, AsianPhilharmonic Orhcestra Academy, and Baniff Music Festival. She has served as a faculty at SUNY Geneseo this spring and is serving as a teaching assistant to Mr. Richard Killmer at the Eastman Shcool of Music.
